Clean Sky launches 9th call for proposals

12/11/2018
The 9th Call for Proposals (CfP09) was launched on 6 November 2018 via the European Commission’s H2020 Participant Portal. The closing date is 6 February 2019.

Clean Sky is the largest European research programme developing innovative, cutting-edge technology aimed at reducing CO2, gas emissions and noise levels produced by aircraft. Funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme, Clean Sky contributes to strengthening European aero-industry collaboration, global leadership and competitiveness.

Clean Sky’s core mission is to develop breakthrough technologies to significantly increase the environmental performance of aircraft. Specific environmental aims are fourfold:

  • to reduce fuel burn

  • to lower CO2 emissions

  • to mitigate external noise levels by up to 50%

  • to reduce NOx emissions by up to 80% by 2020, compared to 2000 levels

Complementing environmental targets, Clean Sky also aims to contribute to European competitiveness and mobility, with the creation of sustainable growth and skilled employment in the air transport sector.

CfP09 has a budget of €69.1 million for 55 topics including 4 thematic topics. The closing date is 6 February 2019.

Registration is now open for our Info Days dedicated to CfP09 in Ankara on 15 November and Bordeaux on 20 November.

Interested applicants are also welcome to check our interactive presentations (see below section “How to apply: Step by step”).

What is a Clean Sky Call?

There are two types of calls under Clean Sky 2, published:

Calls for Core Partners – selection of long-term partners expected to make a substantial commitment to Clean Sky 2 and its programme activities. Core Partners are officially Members of the Clean Sky Joint Undertaking.

Calls for Proposals – addressed to entities interested in participating as Partners in individual projects within Clean Sky 2 on a short-term contractual basis and with relevant expertise to offer.
