ZABALA Joins the EU Sustainable Energy Week
The EU Sustainable Energy Week celebrates its 13th edition this year, from 4 to 8 June with a series of activities to build a secure energy future for Europe. It brings together public authorities, private companies, NGOs and consumers to promote initiatives to save energy and move towards renewables for clean, secure and efficient power.
This year’s leading theme is “Lead the Clean Energy Transition”. Appropriately, representatives of the ETIP SNET project, in which ZABALA participates as lead coordinator, will take part in the DecarbEurope Forum and the Policy Session entitled “Europe’s Vision For The Energy System Of The Future” alongside different experts from the energy sector, including RGI, REE, AIB, HyER, Hinicio, Eurelectric, and the Heinrich Boell Foundation. Here they will preview some elements of the ETIP SNET Vision 2050 which highlights how the European Energy System should evolve in the coming 30 years and how they plan to contribute to the success of the EU’s Energy Transition. The official release of the report is 27 June 2018.
Our colleagues Gustavo Jacomelli and Marie Latour will at EUSEW18 taking part in the different activities throughout the conference as representatives of ETIP-SNET including a stand at the “Networking Village” (Energy Fair), between 14.00-17.30h on the 6th June. If you are there drop by to say hello!
ZABALA COORDINATES THE ETIP-SNET PROJECT
ETIP SNET is an initiative of the European Union and is supported by the INTENSYS4EU project, part of the H2020 Programme and led by ZABALA Innovation Consulting. The project has a global budget of more than 4.3 million euros and will last until 2020, aligned with the strategy of the European transition towards a low carbon economy, promoting safe and efficient energy.
Last years, European Technology & Innovation Platforms (ETIPs) have been created by the European Commission to bring together a multitude of stakeholders and experts from the energy sector and aim at developing research and innovation agendas and roadmaps to support EU’s Energy Transition. The ETIP Smart Networks for Energy Transition (ETIP SNET) was established to gather and provide dedicated and overarching advice on strategic issues driving the energy sector, enabling the European countries and regions to converge on national RD&I plans for energy systems research and common funding – together with the EC - of collaborative RD&I projects.
