REPLICATE´s main objective is to build a sustainable city business model that promotes the transition to a smart city. In this way, it will be possible to accelerate the deployment of innovative, organizational and economic technologies to increase resources and energy efficiency; improve the sustainability of urban transport and drastically reduce the greenhouse effect in urban areas.
“Lighthouse” projects are especially complex because they require pilot schemes, in this case the chosen pilot cities are San Sebastián (Spain), Florence (Italy) and Bristol (UK). Each chapter will include actions for building (infrastructure) regeneration, electric mobility, ICT, renewable energy and smart grids. The project outcomes are due to be replicated in other cities such as: Essen (Germany), Lausanne (Switzerland) and Nilüfer (Turkey).
