While the European Parliament confirmed their position on the next EU long-term budget and structure, it is now the turn of EU member states. The Austrian presidency is expected to hand over negotiations to the Romanian presidency as they are not expected to be finalized during this semester.
Space technology is used for anything from communications to saving lives at sea and monitoring natural disasters. The proposed €16 billion budget for 2021-2027 covers programmes such as Galileo, Copernicus and Space Situational Awareness.
The European Commission has informed the applicants about the results of the LIFE Programme call for traditional projects under the Environment sub-programme of 2018 revealing a European estimated approval average of 27%. At ZABALA, this figure stands at 70%.
Today MEPs confirmed their position on the next EU long-term budget, including a precise breakdown of the amounts for each EU programme. Budget for Horizon Europe should be set at €120 billion in 2018 prices (Commission original proposal: €83.5 billion).
For the next long-term EU budget 2021-2027, the Commission proposes to further strengthen the Union’s social dimension with a new and improved European Social Fund, the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) and a more effective European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF).
