education and cooperation
Over the past 36 years, Erasmus+ has supported 14 million people, offering them opportunities to participate in education, training, and mobility activities. What began as a program to foster collaboration between European universities has evolved into a comprehensive initiative that unites diverse EU efforts to promote cross-border cooperation and mobility in education, training, youth, and sports.
Erasmus+ places a strong emphasis on social inclusion, environmental sustainability, digital transformation, and encouraging youth participation in democratic processes. This program provides valuable experiences for school pupils, higher education and vocational students, adult learners, educators, and young people involved in non-formal learning programs.

Key Actions
The program is structured into three Key Actions (KA) along with Jean Monnet Actions, each offering diverse opportunities and calls for proposals:
This action supports learners and staff in various educational fields, as well as youth and sport professionals. Funding opportunities include:
- Mobility projects for learners and staff
- Youth participation activities
- Mobility of sport staff
- Virtual exchanges in higher education and youth
- Language learning opportunities for mobility participants
- DiscoverEU: Offering 18-year-olds the chance to explore Europe through short-term travel experiences.
This action supports transnational networks of schools and organizations. Opportunities include:
- Partnerships for Cooperation: Joint operations and practice exchanges at the transnational level, including grassroots organizations and newcomers.
- Partnerships for Excellence: European Universities, Centres of Vocational Excellence, Erasmus+ Teachers Academies, and Erasmus Mundus Action.
- Partnerships for Innovation: Alliances for Innovation, Forward-looking projects, and capacity-building projects across education, youth, and sport.
- Not-for-Profit Sport Events: Supporting sport-related initiatives and events.
This action focuses on centralized activities that foster innovative policy development, policy dialogue, and the exchange of knowledge.
These opportunities are typically published outside the annual Erasmus+ Call for Proposals and may be implemented directly by the European Commission.
Promoting global excellence in teaching and research in EU studies, these actions encourage dialogue between academia and policymakers, with a particular focus on European integration.
Who
can apply?
Erasmus+ helps organisations improve staff skills, build capacity, and form international partnerships. Organisations from countries outside the EU can take part in selected actions of the Erasmus+ programme. It also supports learning mobility for students, trainees, and staff.
