The European Commission launches three calls to enhance advanced connectivity
With a budget of €323 million, these initiatives will conclude on 13 February 2025
Horizon 2020 project, CIRCUSOL, represented sustainable business models at the European Roundtable gathering solar power industry.

PV materials, manufacturing, and development practices are being increasingly evaluated in terms of sustainability, bringing both complexity and opportunity. As an economic recovery from Covid-19 brings “green growth” to the fore, how technology, certification, and the corporate social responsibility demands of off-takers can bring sustainability to the fore and deliver a competitive edge.
On June 10, 2020, PV MAGAZINE invited CIRCUSOL partners to speak at the Sustainability Roundtable. The online event targetted energy powerhouses & small vendors to redefine their role in the next stage of Europe’s energy transition.
The experts from the solar power industry talked about why sustainability matters – challenges and opportunities in manufacturing and technology development in the context of an EU Green Deal.
CIRCUSOL stands for “Circular Business Models for the Solar Power Industry”. It is an Innovation Action project funded by the Horizon 2020 program of the European Commission. It brings together 15 partners from 7 European countries to develop and demonstrate business solutions for circular economy in the solar power sector. CIRCUSOL started in June 2018 and will run for 4 years.
