Laura Sesma Aguirre has a PhD in Pharmaceutics, having completed her doctoral thesis in the field of molecular mechanisms involved in the onset of autoimmune diseases using proteomic tools. She has more than 10 years of experience in R&D&I project management, preparing and managing proposals for small, medium and large national companies in the health sector, including the development of drugs, health products and technologies. She oversees European calls related to this sector, including both Social Challenge 1 and Public Health or those related to large platforms such as innovative medicines, and is a member of the team responsible for large European programmes, such as H2020, Social Challenge 1. She has also participated as an expert for the Innovation Radar in project review meetings in the FET area. Finally, Laura’s has participated in the European project, HIVACAR, focused on the development of a personalized cure for HIV; DOCTIS, focused on the identification of new combinatorial approaches for IMIDS; as well as VES4US, which aims at targeting extracellular vesicles for molecular delivery system.
