Edoardo Genova

Edoardo Genova joined the Brussels office of Zabala Innovation in early 2022, where he works as a Senior Innovation Consultant. He specialises in the management of EU-funded projects, international tenders, and innovation platforms, currently serving as Secretariat Leader for the IEA Technology Collaboration Programme (TCP) ISGAN – International Smart Grid Action Network, and Coordinator of the SET-IndEU project, which supports the SET Plan Implementation Working Group on Sustainable and Efficient Energy Use in Industry (IWG-Industry).

Edoardo’s experience spans across energy, smart grids and electrification, digitalisation, security, and other strategic sectors. He has solid experience in proposal writing for EU projects (e.g. Horizon Europe, Creative Europe) and tenders in the field of Research, Development, and Innovation.

Previously at Zabala Innovation, he worked as a Communication and Dissemination Manager and continues to enjoy activities such as content creation, event organisation, and session moderation. As the Brussels office focal point for Generative Artificial Intelligence, he also delivers internal training sessions to strengthen the team’s capacity in emerging digital tools.

Edoardo holds two master’s degrees: one in Terrorism, Security & Society from King’s College London (United Kingdom), and another in International Relations and Diplomatic Affairs from the University of Bologna (Forlì campus, Italy). Before joining Zabala Innovation, he worked for the European Energy Research Alliance (EERA) and spent two years as a freelance photographer and video maker.
