Become an expert

External evaluators of project proposals are drawn from the European Commission’s independent expert database. The Commission is looking to expand the database through a call for experts covering a very broad range of fields. If you fit the expert profile rather than that of an applicant, and would like to be considered as a proposal evaluator, sign up in the Funding & Tenders Portal.

Background

The CEF Transport programme is the key EU funding instrument for the development of high performing, sustainable and interconnected Trans-European transport networks, with a focus on the nine Core Network Corridors. The programme co-finances projects that enhance multimodality, improve infrastructure and advance innovation and new technologies.

The CEF programme has a grant budget of €23.2 billion for the transport sector. Of this amount, €11.3 billion is reserved for projects in Member States eligible for the Cohesion Fund. Annual and multi-annual work programmes specify the set of priorities and the total amount of financial support to be committed for each of these priorities in a given year.

Since 2014, 689 projects have been supported with around €22.9 billion EU funding. Of this, 34 projects were selected under the 2017 CEF Transport Blending call (2nd cut-off date) and receive €399.5 million in CEF Transport funding and 14 were selected under the 2017 CEF Transport SESAR call and receive €290 million in CEF Transport funding.

The European Commission’s Innovation and Networks Executive Agency (INEA) is managing evaluations of the call and supervising implementation of projects.
