IMPETUS PROJECT
New opportunities for citizen science
The IMPETUS project, coordinated by Zabala Innovation, launches its second call for projects to address social challenges through its entrepreneurial drive programme
EU Regions Week will be held from 5 to 22 October including more than 500 sessions on three different topics.
The 18th European Week of Regions and Cities, which will take place from 5 to 22 October, opens for registration on 27 August until 27 September. It will feature online and hybrid sessions, as well as an exhibition in Brussels.
This year the European Week of Regions will be held over three weeks, each one focusing on a different theme. The first week, from 5 to 9 October, will be about Empowering Citizens, the second week, from 12 to 16 October, will look at Cohesion and Cooperation and the last week, from 19 to 22 October, will focus on Green Europe.
This event brings together political representatives, local and regional officials, as well as experts and academics to discuss common challenges for European regions and cities and to exchange ideas on possible solutions. Furthermore, the Week of the Regions is a platform for analysing good practices and exchanging experiences among those implementing EU cohesion policy and managing its financial instruments.
It is an annual event jointly organised by the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) and the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy (DG REGIO). They work in partnership with more than 200 regions and cities, businesses, financial institutions, international associations, or academic organisations.
It therefore seeks to facilitate cooperation and networking between regions and cities, as well as to feed the debate on EU cohesion policy in a wider context, including recent research and the views of third countries and international organisations.
