INNOVATION FUND
It is the turn of large-scale projects with a budget of 1.5 billion euros

The Innovation Fund (IF) call for large-scale projects, with a budget of €1.5 billion, is now open. The closing date for submitting projects is 3 March 2022. To help you with the presentation of your idea, in ZABALA Innovation we have developed a guide with some of the main keys of IF. You can download it here:
Innovation Fund is one of the world’s largest funds, endowed with €20 billion with the aim, among others, of bringing innovative clean technology projects to market, i.e. low carbon.
The Innovation Fund helps to meet the commitments outlined in the European Green Pact to achieve a climate-neutral Europe by 2050. It is a programme managed by CINEA and funded by the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS) and was designed taking into account the lessons learned from its predecessor, the NER300 programme.
The call for small-scale projects in the Innovation Fund will have to wait until March next year, with a closing date in August and publication of results in the first quarter of 2023. In the previous call for small-scale projects, ZABALA Innovation tripled the overall approval rate.
Of the 10 projects submitted by clients supported by us last March, three were selected by the European Commission, equivalent to 30%, compared to an overall ratio of 13% (i.e. 32 projects selected out of 232 submitted). This means that almost half of the seven Spanish projects approved in this call bear the signature of ZABALA Innovation.
