WORLD FOOD DAY

The Zabala Innovation team in Madrid joins the World Food Day

World Food Day

To mark World Food Day, celebrated every October 16, Zabala Innovation has promoted a solidarity initiative at its Madrid headquarters. Throughout the week, the team has donated non-perishable food and personal hygiene products, which today, October 17, are being delivered to the nearest soup kitchen — the Fundación Social Hijas de la Caridad, the oldest soup kitchen in Madrid, with more than 100 years of history and serving around 400 meals a day — contributing to the well-being of our local community.

A Collective Gesture That Adds Up

World Food Day, promoted by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), reminds us each year of the importance of ensuring access to adequate and sustainable food for all people. At Zabala Innovation, we wanted to join this cause with a close and tangible initiative developed from our Madrid office.

Between October 13 and 17, the team actively participated in a collection of food and essential goods, which became a space for collaboration and solidarity. Rice, pasta, pulses, oil, canned food, and personal hygiene items are some of the products donated and delivered today to the neighborhood soup kitchen, located just a few meters from the office.

Commitment to People and the Environment

At Zabala Innovation, we believe that innovation also means creating a positive impact on people and the environments where we work.

“These small actions strengthen our sense of community and remind us that change begins with simple gestures,” highlights Fernando Pérez, Director of the Madrid office.

This activity adds to other celebrations and commemorations that, every year, promote the values of sustainability, well-being, and cooperation within the Zabala Innovation team. Initiatives that, beyond their symbolic dimension, reflect a corporate culture committed to human and social development.

Nourishing Solidarity Too

The 2025 World Food Day theme, “Water is life, water nourishes the world,” invites reflection on the connection between natural resources and food security.

In line with this message, Zabala Innovation reaffirms its commitment to sustainable and responsible innovation, contributing to the well-being of both people and the planet.

Because, as every year, this day is much more than a date on the calendar — it is an opportunity to remember that food, solidarity, and innovation are essential ingredients for a better world.
