Challenge

Europe’s bioeconomy ecosystem is rich in knowledge, innovation and regional initiatives; but collaboration between stakeholders is often limited, existing networks operate in isolation, and access to knowledge, education, investment opportunities and policy dialogue is scattered across multiple platforms.
These affect widening regions and underrepresented stakeholders, showing the deployment of sustainable bioeconomy solutions and reducing Europe’s ability to fully exploit the potential of bioeconomy for green growth, competitiveness and resilience.

Solution

STRONGBIONET will strengthen Euope’s bioeconomy by creating a true “network of networks”. Through a multilingual EU-wide digital platform and four thematic Communities of Practice, the project will connect researchers, industry, investors, policymakers, educators and civil society, fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange and innovation. By bringing together existing initiatives into one integrated ecosystem, STRONGBIONET will accelerate the uptake of sustainable bioeconomy solutions across Europe.

Impact

STRONGBIONET will create a more connected, resilient and competitive European bioeconomy by improving collaboration, education, investment readiness and science-policy dialogue. The project will empower stakeholders through knowledge sharing and networking, support innovation and sustainable growth, and increase awareness of the bioeconomy while promoting the active participation of widening regions and underrepresented groups.
