The role of the CEF Energy programme in Europe’s energy transformation

Carolina Simón Herrero holds a Ph.D. in Chemical and Environmental Engineering and a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM). She also has a Master’s in Chemical Engineering from UCLM and an MBA in Business Administration and Management from the International University of La Rioja (UNIR). Additionally, she has received training in Project Management and Leadership.
Throughout her professional career, she has built strong expertise in research and consulting. She is currently working as a European R&D&I Project Management Consultant at Zabala Innovation, focusing on writing proposals for various European programs, including Innovation Fund, CEF Transport, CEF Energy, and Horizon Europe, within the strategic sectors of energy, environment, mobility, and industry. She also manages European projects across different sectors funded by the European Commission.
Furthermore, she is part of the Energy Area at Zabala Innovation, where she is responsible for the Battery and Innovation Fund calls and is a member of the expert group for CEF Energy. Her role also includes identifying funding opportunities for clients.
