Data Market Services (DMS) participated in a new edition of The Next Web Conference, held in Amsterdam, supporting some of the most promising companies in Europe. In addition, within the program of the conference, Data Market Services had the opportunity to make a side event in which more than 20 startups, relevant entities in the European data landscape, investors and other attendees gathered. They were: 20tree.ai, Aerialscoop, Be Sure Healthcare B.V., Big Data Value Association, Bnc10, EIT Digital, F6S, Kwit, LeanXcale, NVISO SA, Ogilvy, Ontame.io, OWN.space, PriceFlux.net, Recruitsos, Sensei, Spaceboost, Spherik Accelerator, SpinLab, The Next Web, Toucan Toco, Unboxed.network, University of Deusto, Vesputi, XOresearch, ZABALA INNOVATION CONSULTING, Zezame, University of Southampton.
Data Market Services, a project led and coordinated by ZABALA Innovation Consulting, has the main objective of transforming the European ecosystem, overcoming the existing barriers in the data market that are currently facing European startups and SMEs whose business model is focused on the use of data.
The project will explore and engage with SMEs and start-ups that are in the data market. To support participants, it will offer more than 12 free services in 5 categories (investment, acceleration, legal training, standardisation and data skills), and will build a portfolio of more than 2,000 candidates with the 150 European companies with the most potential. This selection will be made in 3 different calls from 2019 to 2021. Interested startups are still in time to participate in the call until May 27, to register, you can fill out this form.
On the main stage of the TNW Conference the 2019 Global Startup Ecosystem Report (GSER) with the Starting Genome was launched. Produced in partnership with the Global Entrepreneurship Network. The #GSER2019 is the world’s most comprehensive and widely read research on startups.
The GSER is based on data from thousands of startup founders and research on startups, supplemented by data from partners Crunchbase, Dealroom and Orb Intelligence. One of the GSER’s most striking statistics is that the emerging global economy is worth nearly $3 trillion, a 20 percent increase from 2017. Technology-driven start-ups not only contribute to economic growth, but in many ways are economic growth.
TNW Conference was also the place for the presentation of the novelties of the European Innovation Council pilot programme, which was presented by Katerina Kokesova, Project Officer of the EC.
The EIC supports world-class innovators, entrepreneurs, small businesses and researchers with brilliant ideas and the ambition to expand internationally. True to this philosophy, the EIC has announced three key innovations for its pilot programme: new financing instruments; strengthened support for high-risk projects and fast-moving technologies and markets; and the integration of an Advisory Board with a clear profile of high-level experience into its governance structure.
In this sense, the EC, through the EIC, has allocated 2,000 million euros to launch two funding lines that will be the protagonists of the next Horizon Europe: Pathfinder and Accelerator. The first is oriented towards Science and the second is oriented towards the Market.
ZABALA currently manages 5 programmes with its own open calls for funding and/or services. Each programme has its own conditions and procedures.
These programmes are initiatives that promote entrepreneurship and business creation across Europe in the framework of ICT applied to different vertical sectors such as industry, energy, transport, logistics, environment, health, media, smart cities, etc.
These include: Data Market Services, which participated in The Next Web Conference, BLOCKCHERS, EDI, NGI Explorers, and IRSUS.
