Frederico Martins

Frederico Martins is a senior innovation consultant at Zabala Innovation, having contributed to the design of R&D&I proposals in the energy, defence, nanoelectronics, green hydrogen, aviation and construction sectors, across programmes such as the EIC, the ERC, Horizon Europe, the EDF and the Innovation Fund.

With several years’ experience in international collaborations, Frederico has secured COST and H2020 funding, as well as research and mobility grants from Germany, China, Spain and Portugal to work on spin/electronic materials, small-molecule activation and inert bond activation (new transition-metal catalysts), and cancer therapies.

Frederico holds a PhD in Theoretical Chemistry from the University of Girona (Spain) and has certifications in Project Management (Google) and Intellectual Property (INPI), as well as specialisations in Business Model Generation and AI for Research (UdG). He also holds an ICAO Private Pilot Licence.
