Happy 30th birthday, LIFE!

From Zabala Innovation we join the celebration of the 30th anniversary of LIFE. This is the only European programme dedicated exclusively to the environment and climate action.

During its thirty years of existence, we have been able to witness first-hand the enormous growth of the LIFE Programme and the increased interest it has generated in recent years.

“The first LIFE dossier we prepared was in 2004, and since then, we have worked hard, submitting more than 100 proposals. We have achieved important milestones in recent years, such as representing 12% of the proposals in Europe that went from concept note to full proposal in 2020, or 14% of the projects funded in Spain in the 2014-2020 Programme”, explains Maite Zazpe, leader of the Environment Area at Zabala Innovation.

In this involvement in the LIFE Programme it is also worth highlighting the obtaining of two LIFE projects integrated in the adaptation to climate change at regional level in Navarre and the Basque Country, NADAPTA and URBAN KLIMA 2050. In addition, we have obtained funding for practically all the typologies and thematic areas of the LIFE Programme.
