The Innovation Radar is a data-driven initiative of the European Commission focused on the identification of high potential innovations in the Horizon 2020 projects. It supports innovators by suggesting a variety of tailored actions to assist in fulfilling their potential in the market. The Innovation Radar covers all ICT research and innovation projects that the Commission has launched under Horizon 2020.
The guests of the event will get familiarised with the methodology of the Innovation Radar tools, as well as the most remarkable success stories of the start-ups and innovators involved in the H2020 initiatives IRSUS and MERLIN.
The IRSUS accelerator brings European start-ups to the next level. After four different open calls, the IRSUS portfolio of startups was comprised of 89 companies from 25 European countries. In terms of maturity over a half of the companies were pre-seed (52%), one quarter as seed (25%) and the rest were scale-ups (23%).
MERLIN has collaborated with researchers across Europe to reach the full potential of their studies and to shape their ideas and outputs into concepts ready for market validation and commercialisation. To help MERLIN, 300 participants have boosted their business ideas, it has organized 52 practical thematic workshops in 7 European countries, and 16 meetups and pitching sessions with potential customers and commercial partners.
