Ane García

Ane García Urricelqui holds a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the University of the Basque Country, having defended her thesis in the field of organic synthesis and asymmetric catalysis in 2022. She has also worked in various laboratories and in teaching before joining Zabala Innovation in 2023.

Within the organisation, she has experience in preparing R&D proposals for European calls for proposals, especially in the field of health, as well as in European project management. Since 2025, she has been responsible for the Health Knowledge Area, supervising European calls for proposals specialising in the sector, including Horizon Europe, EU4Health, IHI and co-funded health partnerships.

Finally, she is currently participating in the DREAMS projects, focused on the discovery and validation of new effective therapies for the treatment of several neuromuscular diseases at the same time; TriAnkle, which seeks tissue regeneration through collagen-based bioprinting for patients with osteoarticular conditions; and ReaDI, which addresses inequality in access to clinical studies for underrepresented populations.
