
Carlos Alfaro holds a PhD in Biology from the University of Navarra and has over 20 years of experience in biomedical research, particularly in the fields of Cell Therapy and Medical Oncology.
Throughout his career, he has participated in more than 35 research projects, serving as principal investigator in two of them, and has secured competitive funding from organisations such as the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), the Carlos III Health Institute (ISCIII), and the CIBERONC network. He has completed research stays at leading international centres including Radboud University Medical Center (Netherlands) and Erlangen University Hospital (Germany).
His scientific output includes 54 publications in international journals, and he has acted as peer reviewer for more than 10 scientific journals, as well as serving on the editorial board of four of them. In addition, he has developed a strong academic career as a university lecturer and has participated as an evaluator in national and international R&I calls.
Since 2023, he has been part of Zabala Innovation, based in Mutilva, where he works as a European project consultant in the Health area. In this role, he contributes to the design, writing and management of EU-funded proposals aimed at advancing innovation in the health sector, combining his solid scientific background with strategic R&I project management.
