Juan Carlos holds a degree in Chemistry and earned a PhD in Organic Chemistry from the Catholic University of Leuven (Belgium), where he conducted research on the synthesis of bioactive compounds. He later worked in the pharmaceutical industry, developing processes for drug production.
In 2015, he joined Zabala Innovation as a Consultant in Research, Technological Development, and Innovation. Since then, he has been involved in the preparation of proposals at both national and European levels. Nationally, he has experience in preparing and managing applications for CDTI, AEI, IDAE, and GAIN. At the European level, in addition to HORIZON, he has extensive experience with programs such as LIFE, INTERREG, EMFAF, and INNOVATION FUND. He has worked on projects in health, bioeconomy, and sustainable energy, collaborating with companies, universities, technology centers, and public bodies.
