“Regions that do not innovate will be lost”
We interviewed Javier Lahuerta, leader of Zabala Innovation's Regions Area

Zabala Innovation carried out the exploration, rapprochement and generation of valuable alliances with potential international partners to promote initiatives of interest for the Medellín Life Sciences Hub.
The project’s main objective was to articulate the Science, Technology and Innovation ecosystem to transform Medellin into a knowledge economy, with innovation as a core element. To achieve this, the project set out three strategic priorities: attracting talent, capital and international companies to the city; developing and strengthening the innovative and entrepreneurial business fabric; and generating scientific, technological and innovative solutions for the city’s challenges.
Zabala Innovation carried out the exploration, establishment and generation of valuable alliances with potential international partners that promote initiatives of interest for the Medellín Life Sciences Hub and improved its visibility and international positioning by promoting it among stakeholders and strategic partners. Zabala Innovtion also facilitated the identification of funding opportunities in international cooperation projects.
Sinfonia seeks to ensure the quality of life of its inhabitants, and to develop clean and efficient energy systems integrated into urban planning strategies.
Zabala Innovation worked on monitoring regional R&I policies in Spain, within the RIM project.
Zabala Innovation is one of six partners in the consortium driving the shared ambition to make Europe a major player in the global battery industry.
